In the lap of mighty Dhauladhar mountains – A photo story on Dharamshala & Mcleodganj

Posted on Posted in Photo Stories

A summer family trip to Dharamshala/McLeodganj was fantastic. Surrounded by mighty Dhauladhar mountains, Dharamshala is situated in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh and is divided into two parts, upper Dharamshala and lower Dharamshala. Upper Dharamshala is known as “Mcleodganj”. McLeodganj is also known as “Little Lhasa” because of its large population of Tibetans. The great Tibetan leader the Dalai Lama lives here. Mcleodganj is situated at a height of approx. 2000 meters above sea level and has a pleasant climate even in summer and is dotted by the colourful Tibetan markets, monasteries, cafes. Lower Dharamshala is a bit hot in summer but has many attractions for tourists. HPCA Cricket Stadium, Norbulingka Institute, Gyuto Monastery, Tea Gardens are few of them.

Mcleodganj is also a base for a famous Triund Trek. If you are interested in trekking then visit my blog on Triund Trek

Let us take a short tour of these places through this Photo Story on Dharamshala & Mcleodganj  🙂
